 The Wedding Ministers

Rev. Fr. Joseph Barta was ordained a Roman Catholic priest as a member of the Congregation of the Mission (Vincentians) on June 3, 1978, at DeAndreis Seminary chapel in Lemont, Illinois by Cardinal John Patrick Cody of Chicago.   He then served on the staff of St. Mary's Seminary in Houston, Texas and sometimes lectured at the University of St. Thomas Graduate School of Theology.   

He is currently a member of the Society of Christ’s Priesthood and affiliated with the International Council of Community Churches.

 

 


He holds the following degrees:

Master of Divinity - DeAndreis Institute of Theology - October 27, 1977
Master of Arts in Theology - University of Notre Dame - August 3, 1979

He has been married 25 years and is the father of two young adult children. He has lived in the Atlanta area for 14 years.
 

Rev. Fr. James E. Lovejoy was ordained a Roman Catholic priest in the Diocese of La Crosse. Wisconsin on May 19, 1956.  He served at Immaculate Conception Parish in Eau Claire. WI. for one year and was then assigned by the Bishop to work with Catholic students at the University of Wisconsin, Eau Claire and then at Stevens point, for approximately 14 years.

He is currently a member in good standing with the Society of Christ's Priesthood, otherwise known as C.I.T.I. Ministries and is affiliated with and endorsed by the International Council of Community Churches. He is authorized to perform national and international religious ministries, including marriage ministry in accordance with State and other governmental requirements.

 
Rev. Fr. Lovejoy holds the following degrees:

Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy - New York University;
Master of Arts degree in Human Relations - University of Oklahoma;
PhD (without dissertation) in Ecumenical Theology - Aquinas Institute, Dubuque, Iowa.

He has been married for 37 years to Jacquelyn (Kresse) Lovejoy and they have three adult children and five grandchildren,
